Red Head

Yes, I'm a red head again and I wasn't really planning that!
I wanted to dye my hair because the roots were looking pretty awful but I didn't want to go to the hairdresser so I decided to do it at home. I went to buy the dye I wanted to use but all the colors available were so boring and plain. When I looked at this red it looked so much prettier than all the blondes and boring browns for sale so I didn't even think twice.

It's weird to be a red head again but my hair looks so much healthier like this which is keeping me from freaking out! I like it! If any of you feels like dying your hair red at home I totally recomend the dye I used (Garnier Nutrísse Ultra Color). It really works and it's really smooth!

Oh, a great thing! I'm going to get myself a reflex camera, finally! My dad is going to help me with that because I really need a camera not only for blogging but also for work. I'm thinking about a Nikon d7000. Any of you uses that camera?

These Days

I miss sitting in the grass wearing a floral dress and reading some great book! I really do!
My second semester just started and I already have a thousand of things to do and all I want is to enjoy these beautiful sunny days! Today I wanted to do an outfit post but when I got home to have lunch I was so tired that I felt asleep and only woke up at the beginning of the night. Yes, I spent last night watching the Oscars but who didn't? I couldn't miss it!
The cool thing about today is that I went to the cinema watch... guess what? Yes, "The Artist". And no, I didn't went just because of the Oscars but because I really wanted to watch it and there was this promotion today: 4€ for cinema and dinner. Too good to miss! Oh, the movie is REALLY worth it! There was a group of young people behind me that said the movie was a bore. What? A bore? Aff, I hate when people reject silent and black and white movies!

Well. I'm talking to much! I should go study instead!

Marie Poupée In Pictures

Now that the pastels are everywhere I tought it was a good idea to share with you this movie where you can find pastels and baby colors everywhere. Marie Poupée is a french 1976 movie by Joel Séria.
It approaches the dangers of innocence and the sickness of human mind in a really exceptional way!
After I watched this movie I felt just like when I was 13 and I saw The Virgins Suicide by Sofia Coppola for the first time. A very intense mixing of feelings!
This is not a movie everybody is going to like but you got to love the image and the details Joel used.

Ps: I was interviewed by the lovely Preziosa! Check it here!

How British

This weekend it was my boyfriend's birthday so me and my friend Paulinha (from the blog Mmh! Artsy) went to his hometown to celebrate it. I always enjoy going to Lamego!
It is a really nice little town with really beautiful places.!

Me and Paulinha decided to take a walk around some of the nearest places so we could take some pictures. Yes, I took her some pictures! You don't know how happy it made me to be the one behind the camera this time.
I could get used to it! She also took me these photos of me, I was feeling rather british so I had to share this outfit with you.
Anyway, she's going to share the photos I took of her in her blog (it's going to be her first outfit post, yey) so don't forget to pass by and tell me what you think!

It was really nice to spend a different weekend! Now I have a little Carnival university break until thursday and I can't wait to spend the days watching movies. I could spend my life doing it!

Oh, and the coat I was wearing? I only cost 3€! Gotta love second-hand stores!

Style Icon: Tennessee Thomas

Tennessee Thomas is the pretty drummer behind the band The Like.
Her lovely clothes, pretty smile and saddle shoes makes her one of my biggest style inspirations.
If you don't know her because of her band you probably have seen her before posing in pictures with Alexa Chung (they are best friends)!

She's a huge The Beatles fan, which makes me like her even more. Her style is a mix between something a granny would wear and something Lolita would have in her closet.
That says a lot!

Por Guarda-Roupas Nunca Dantes Navegados

Inês, from the blog Cinnamon Eve created this project where the same t-shirt will travel around portuguese bloggers closets. When I read about it I knew I had to join. Last week Cat from the blog From Someone In Love told me she wanted me to be next blogger styling the "travel t-shirt" and you can't imagine how happy it made me. Thank you dear Cat!
You can see all the looks that the bloggers created and will create here. I'm sure the t-shirt is going to be styled in really amazing and unique ways.

When I saw the t-shirt for the first time I knew I had to wear it with my heart necklace from Primark because it has the same colors. The red blazer was bought this weekend on the vintage/second hand store in Guimarães and I love it so much that I just had to wear it too. It only cost, believe me or not, 3€. It is my air hostess blazer!

Pillow Fight

Yesterday I went to a pillow fight in Guimarães, the European Capital of Culture.
It was really amazing! There were thousands of people there simply having fun! When it finished the floor was full of feathers and cotton from the pillows.
Also, my hair looked a mess and my dress was all dirty but I really didn't care.
This was the first pillow fight I ever went to and I loved it! These photos were all taken after the fight so don't expect to see much. Just me and my friends, holding the pillows that survived.
Oh, and in the end, Paulinha (from the blog Mmh! Artsy) showed me this amazing second hand/vintage store where I bought two coats and a blazer for a really little amount of money.

I was wearing a dress from Romwe, vintage shoes, a Primark coat and bag!

By the way, I don't know if you already realised but now I have a about me section! Just click here to read it.

Lazy Confessions

I had my last exam yesterday and now I'm on college vacations until monday but I feel like I need at least more two weeks to rest my head! I can't believe I'm starting a new semester in just a few days.
Today I'm having a pretty lazy day! I just left home to take these not so exciting photos and to eat a kebab (oh, beloved indian food) on the street next to mine!

The dress I'm wearing is the only piece I own from the new collection and I only wore it before at the bloggers dinner! It has the perfect shape and the cutest lace collar! I wanted to show it better to you but it was too cold for me to take the coat off!
Oh, and I should probably stop buying shirts and dresses with collars but I love them too much. It's almost an obsession!

Unestablish and Kling

When I first discovered the online store Unestablish I loved it right away because it sells one of the brands
I like the most (and that I already told you about it): Kling
Unestablish has a lot of different styles so don't think it is all girly girl stuff. There you can also find the contemporary style from For Love And Lemons, the edgy clothes from Pauline.Ning, the androgynous jewellery from Yahn Adam, among others! Oh, and free shipping worldwide!

But since Kling designs belongs to my heart let me show you some of my favorite pieces that they're selling on Unestablish:

Meet The Blogger: Valium and Cherry Wine

After a few months without doing a Blogger's Interview I decided to get back on track presenting you one of my favorite portuguese bloggers!

Rita Patinha is the 20 year-old blogger behind Valium and Cherry Wine, a magical place where you can find a lot of inspiration! She's a lovely girl with the prettiest romantic style and I'm sure you'll like to read her answers as much as I did!

1. Where are you from and what do you do for a living?

I'm from Évora but I'm living in Lisbon. During the day I'm a photographer in a model agency and during the night I'm studying Audiovisual and Multimedia at Escola Superior de Comunicação Social.

2. What inspires your personal style?

Everything that I see inspires my style, from unknown people that I see on the streets, to movie characters and, of course, the blogs I daily follow. My state of spirit also influences my style a lot, one day I can wear all black and the next day I can wear a pink skirt or a floral dress.

3. How would you describe your style in a few words?

Hum... It's a bit hard to describe my style in a few words because I don't like to put labels on the styles, my style is just my personal style. I wear what I like and what makes me feel good and I don't follow trends...
I really like vintage stuff and I try to put that on my style but I never wear only vintage from head to toe. I also like floral prints, polka dots and patterns with animals.
If I could I would never wear pants and I would only wear skirts and dresses, because of that I can say I'm a bit girly. I don't like to wear clothes with strong colors, maybe because I spent a lot of years only wearing black and today I still love to wear that color. Sometimes I really like to wear a bit more minimal too.
Lately I have a huge obssession with "Peter Pan Collars", everytime a see a piece of clothing with that I fall in love!

4. What made you start blogging?

Everything started when I read an article about bloggers on a portuguese magazine that no longer exists (Ragazza), I searched some of the blogs that they talked about and WishWishWish was the one I liked the most because I identifed myself a lot with Carrie's style... Since that day I start following WishWishWish and one day I tought "why not create my own blog!?"

5. If you could, who would you like to be for a day?

I would like to experiment living in diferent eras (a lot like the fillm Midnight In Paris) but without needing to change who I am, I could still be myself. I would wake up in Paris during the "Belle Èpoque", I would learn to dance the Charleston during the 20s, then I would go in a Diner in the USA to eat something during the 50s and in the end I would go to a concert in the 80s :)

6. Tell us a random fact about yourself.

Nobody from my family and friends knows that I own a blog, it's not a secret, I just don't usualy talk about it.

Love,
Marisa Violeta

I Tought I Saw Your Face Today

Here I am finally showing you my lovely sweater from Oasap.
Since the days are really cold outside (I mean, really really cold), I wanted to wear something warm and cosy to protect me. This sweater couldn't be any better! Oh, and I also wore two pairs of tights!
Hey Mr. Weather, once it is so cold I would love to see a bit of snow! Please?

I still have two exams so I can say goodbye to this endless semester!
I'm really tired of so many exams, I need a break! I am also thinking about doing Erasmus next year but I'll talk about that some other day when everything is solved. Wish me luck!
