But in my arms she was always Lolita

Photobucket

Today I went to buy my mother's gift for tomorrow (mother's day, yey) and I end up at Fnac searching for the book Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov that I wanted for ages and hurray! it's finally mine. You can't imagine my excitement when I paid for it and letf the store with the book in my hands.

I also got the movies "Made in USA" and "Alphaville" both from Jean-Luc Godard (I told you in the last post how much I love him). It's weird to go to the mall and end up buying books and movies and not clothes and shoes but the fact is that it feels really good. Ok, I bought that cute little necklace but it doesn't count, ahah.

As Time Goes By

Photobucket

First of all, a little title explanation: I was listening to the song "As Time Goes By" by Frank Sinatra and I didn't know what should I write on the title and I tought this could work et voilá.
I'm a big fan of the movie Casablanca (ahh, Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman) and I find this song perfect in every single way!
Did I ever told you about my love for old movies? I find them fascinating. Jean-Luc Godard is and will be my favorite movie director! You just can't not love the french nouvelle vague, it's so inspiring. And you? Which movies do you like?

So, I'm back in Coimbra, yey! Sorry for my lack of posts but I'm a bit lazy this past days.
I wanted to do a special post but I forgot to take some pictures and I don't feel that inspired. My friend Suzana came to visit me here and I really want to show her all the important Coimbra places. Today we went to some of them and it was really cool. We end up the day at the docks drinking a not so good beer but the view was really beautiful!
Now we're going to have dinner. It's going to be a special pasta made by her and later we're going to explore Coimbra's night. There are a pretty cool bars here, it's going to be lovely!

I'm not gonna show what I wore today! This photos were taken today but you'll see the rest later. It's a suprise :)

In the Navy

Photobucket

Ahh, spring break arrived and I'm not that happy about it because I have to stay in my hometown doing nothing. None of my friends are here and my boyfriend is in his hometown, which is a bit far away from here. But this past days I was pretty happy to see live via youtube some awesome Coachella concerts. The National, The Strokes, Pj Harvey and Best Coast were my favorites. I wish I could be there.

As you can see my photos are a bit lame today but this is what I get when I take photos of myself. Plus I had to take it inside my apartment, so yey! Bad pictures indeed.

(See? Closed eyes!)

Today I wore something inspired by Alexa Chung. Ok, everybody loves her style and I'm no exception. I tried the girly tomboy look and I really liked it. I always feel comfy when I wear navy things. Oh, and can you see what I did to my hair? I tried to curly it a bit. I'm not sure if I like it yet. That gorgeous bag isn't mine, it belongs to my sister but I really want to buy one like that.

Let it Fall

Photobucket

I can't get sick of this lovely spring days! The idea of spending a day inside my home annoys me, I just wanna be outside, enjoying the sun, the high temperatures and the smell of blossom trees.
This is such a romantic weather. I'm planning on doing a picnic anytime soon. I wanna sit on the grass, eat fresh strawberries, homemade cupcakes and drink natural orange juice.

This weather also makes me want to wear comfy things! That's what I did today!
I bought this skirt last year and I just wore it a few times. I need to pay more attencion to those things in my closet that are a bit hidden.

Photobucket

One of the things I want to do the most right now is to have better eating habits. Since I moved to another city to study I started eating too many pizzas, lasagnas, pasta with tuna and McDonald's. This week I decided to change that, yey. Fruit, soup and vegetables are on the top of my list right now. It's not that I wanna lose weight or that, I just wanna feel healthier. I'm 21 and finally I came to the conclusion that I need to treat myself a bit more.

Coral Love

Photobucket

Ahh, I'm so excited with my boyfriend's dad camera! It takes such cute pictures and it's much much better than mine. I feel like taking pictures all the time! I guess I'm going to take outfit photos all this week because sadly we won't have the camera more than that. Even tho I'm not a photography geek, I really want to buy myself a good camera but the truth is that right now I prefer to spend my money in a video camera. I find video much more fascinating.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Oh, and finaly I have a coral piece of clothing! Yes! Everybody seems to be crazy about this color lately and the truth is I couldn't resist it either. It's not that I'm girl who wants to be a part of every single trend (I'm not! I don't even know if I'm going to be a part of that color blocking crazyness) but I love when something new comes out and I feel like that really goes with me and my personal tastes. This coral trend is a great example of that!

First of all I need to say that I'm really glad that you liked my video! I can't wait to do a few more. Since I'm a multimedia design student and I want to work in something related with audiovisual, to do those kind of videos is great for me because I really need to start thinking about my portfolio.

Photobucket
(I look like a very weird tourist in this photo, ahh!)

Anyway, the tempratures are getting higher and I don't really feel springish, in fact I'm feeling summerish. Not that I don't like this weather but I guess my wardrobe is not ready for such hot days. Today I tought I was going to melt, really. 33ºC in April? Oh dear, too much for me.
I also need to say that I really need to buy more hats. I'm wearing this one everyday, which is kind of annoying!

Pink Flowers - Outfit Video Post

This is officialy my first video post, yey! I made it a few days ago with my lovely boyfriend, without him this would never be possible. Thank you

We made this with my not-so-good camera and we didn't have a tripod so I guess it looks pretty good for something made with such conditions. We were walking in the Botanic Garden and I asked him to take me some pictures and since it was such a lovely day we decided to do some sort of video. It was a really hot (30ºC) day and I regreted myself for wearing black tights but I don't know, I have such a crush on black tights that even during Summer I want to wear them.

I just hope you like it, I really see myself creating this videos more often!

Meet the Blogger : Scrapbook de la Emma

I wanted to bring something new to the blog so I tought it would be a great idea to do little interviews to the bloggers that I like and inspire me the most. I want to do this at least once a month! I'm really excited with this kind of new feature and I hope you like as much as I do.

My first interviewee was the beautiful lady behind the "Scrapbook de la Emma". She's an adorable red head with a very girly style and once you start checking her blog you just can't stop.

1. Where are you from and what do you do for a living?
I am from an inland city in NSW, Australia - about 4 hours from Sydney. I'm a part time/casual primary school teacher, not sure if I'll be doing that forever though, my mind changes all the time.

Photobucket

2. What inspires your personal style?
Oh gosh, everything. Obviously other bloggers inspire me a lot, I always love seeing how girls put outfits together in such different ways to what I would have ever imagined. It's so fun to see a look I like and then put my own spin on it to make it more 'me'. I'm also very inspired by my own mood, I'm one of those girls who doesn't know what she wants to wear until that morning, which makes packing a nightmare. I can wake up one day feeling like a floral dress and lots of pretty accessories and embellishments and then the next day want to be dressed in a very minimal basic outfit. I'm also very inspired by everyday things, the sun, a flower, animals, someones hair, my mums patchwork.. the list goes on
.

3. How would you describe your style in a few words?
Girly, sometimes erratic (i.e. my changing mood). I definitely would have to stick with girly, even my friends comment on it. I'm always in a dress or a skirt and I absolutely love colour, prints and girly shapes.

Photobucket

4. What made you start blogging?
I've always loved clothing and the way outfits are put together by different people. I got really into reading other personal style blogs about a year ago and my boyfriend suggested I should start my own. I'm so glad I did 'cos now I love it! To begin with I was a bit worried about putting myself out there and coming across as vein, but once I got into it I was fine. It's really helped my style evolve and encouraged me to try things I might not have tried before starting my blog. I'm definitely more fearless now, I could not imagine life without blogging.

Photobucket

5. If you could, who would you like to be for a day?
Oh gosh, you know, I'd love to have been my mum (or anyone) in the 70''s for a day... I know that's kind of going against the rules of the question but that was the first thing that sprung to mind. I've always had an obsession with that era ever since I was a little girl. My style actually used to reflect it a lot and I'm definitely going to get into the 70's trend that has come back. I just love the evolution of freedom that was happening then, the long hair, bright colours, kombi vans, music festivals and of course, the clothes.

Photobucket

6. Tell us a random fact about yourself.
I'm the clumsiest person you will ever meet. I'm not even exaggerating, my boyfriend calls me Emma the Dilemma because I fall over or hurt myself at least once a day.

After this, I'm sure you liked Emma as much as I do! So, dont forget to check her blog here and inspire yourself!

Oh, and thank you Emma (once again!) for doing this and for being such a nice person! :)

My Friend Goo

Photobucket

This weekend I stayed in Coimbra with my boyfriend. We wanted to go to this Rock & Roll music festival that is happening right now but I guess we both realized that we need to save some money. I wanted to see The Launderettes but I'm not sad about that since this summer is going to be full of great concerts.
But there's a great thing about the fact that this music festival is happening in Coimbra: I saw some beautiful pin-up and rockabilly girls with great styles. I wanted to bring them home and collect them, ahah.

Today I wore my Sonic Youth t-shirt (yey!) but wanted too look a bit girly so I wore my favorite cardigan. I just love the polka dotted peter pan collar. Oh, and look at my favorite shoes at the moment. You're finally seeing me wearing them.
Anyway, do you like Sonic Youth? Which are your favorite bands? What do you like to hear? I'd love to know!

Ah, I think this last photo is so funny! That old man behind me is the typical portuguese man and I was doing that moustache thing but I didn't realize he was there! I love being portuguese, there's so many things that define our culture.
