But in my arms she was always Lolita

Photobucket

Today I went to buy my mother's gift for tomorrow (mother's day, yey) and I end up at Fnac searching for the book Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov that I wanted for ages and hurray! it's finally mine. You can't imagine my excitement when I paid for it and letf the store with the book in my hands.

I also got the movies "Made in USA" and "Alphaville" both from Jean-Luc Godard (I told you in the last post how much I love him). It's weird to go to the mall and end up buying books and movies and not clothes and shoes but the fact is that it feels really good. Ok, I bought that cute little necklace but it doesn't count, ahah.

Engraçado foi hoje ter estado com esse mesmo livro na mão :) No meu caso era uma edição bastante antiga e pelo valor de 1 euro :D

This book seems very familiar to me, I believe I read it when I was going through my classic phase, it was really well-written but so sad.

Hope you had a good weekend sweetie! :)

O colar é amoroso!
Já li o Lolita mais ou menos há um ano, é uma leitura dificil, principalmente ao inicio, pelo teor da historia, mas gostei muito!

Lolita is my favorite book :) I always cry with the end...

Hey, what do you think about Paredes de Coura line up this year? I'm really excited: Pulp, Mogwai,Crystal Stilts, Metronomy...

Not even kidding, it is so ridiculous how similar our tastes are! Lolita is one of my most favorite books in the world. There's something creepily entertaining to me about people who are so twisted--who justify all of their actions constantly.

I also liked the book Tomcat in Love, by Tim O'Brien. The narrator is also a creep. Have you read that one?
