She Wore Burgundy Velvet

Português: Poderia começar este post a dizer o quão complicada tem sido a minha vida com os exames, com a volta para a Portugal e com todas essas coisas que têm feito a minha vinda ao blog impossível mas a verdade é que vou evitar isso. Estou realmente feliz por simplesmente estar de volta!

Estava ansiosa por vos mostrar esta saia de veludo que recebi da Chicnova. Tornou-se das minhas peças favoritas rapidamente porque... veludo. Não preciso de dizer muito mais do que isso, ultimamente o veludo tornou-se num dos meus materiais favoritos. Adoro o toque, a textura, o aspecto e como facilmente me remete para o Blue Velvet do David Lynch, um dos filmes mais deliciosos de sempre. 

English: I could start this posting by saying how complicated my life has been with the college exams, with my moving back to Portugal and all those things that made my regular blog posting impossible but the truth is that I want to avoid that. I'm just really exciting for coming back!
I was so anxious for showing you this velvet skirt I got from Chicnova! It became one of my favorite pieces ever because... well, velvet. I don't need to say much more than that, lately I've been obsessed over velvet. I love the touch, the texture, how it looks and how it easily reminds me of David Lynch's Blue Velvet, one of the most delicious movies ever.

Everyday, Everynight

Português: Sabem aqueles dias em que ao acordar, olham para o vosso armário e nada parece suficiente bom para usar? Em que tudo parece aborrecido e igual? Hoje foi um desses dias mas, no entanto, fez-se luz quando olhei para esta blusinha que a minha mãe comprou numa loja local por apenas 10€. Peguei no meu vestidinho preto mais básico que já tem uns aninhos, nuns sapatos marcantes, et voilá, surgiu um dos meus outfits favoritos de sempre!
Uma das coisas boas de ter um blog, é poder recordar as coisas que vestimos no passado e ver como a nossa forma de vestir vai mudando ao longo dos tempos. Quando comecei o Green Grass and Black Clouds, a ideia de usar saltos parecia-me um sonho porque simplesmente não tinha qualquer confiança. Hoje tenho muita mais vontade de arriscar, experimentar coisas novas e até brincar de forma mais divertida com as roupas que tenho no meu guarda-roupa!

English: Do you know those days that when you wake up, you look at your wardrobe and nothing looks good enough to wear? When everything looks boring? Today was one of those days to me but a light came out when I looked at this sweet blouse my mom bought at a local store for only 10€. I grabbed my most basic black dress that already has a few years, some outstading shoes. et voilá, one of my favorite outfits ever came out!
One of the good things about having a blog is being able to remember what we dressed in the past and see how the way we dress changed through the years. When I first started Green Grass and Black Clouds, the idea of wearing high heels seemed like a dream to because I just didn't have any self-confidence. Today I have more need to risk, try new things and even play in a funnier way with my wardrobe!

Please, Don't Be Very Long

Português: Este casaco que comprei numa loja de segunda mão por menos de 1€ tem sido um dos meus melhores companheiros nestes dias frios. Na verdade, não tem o formato mais elegante nem está propriamente novo mas a verdade é que isso me faz gostar ainda mais dele. Já a minha mãe tem uma opinião completamente diferente e tenho a certeza que se ela pudesse ele já não faria parte do meu armário. (Isso não faz que eu goste menos dela!)

Nestes últimos dias a minha maior obsessão tem sido a série Parks and Recreation. Para alem de ser uma boa forma de me fazer rir sem muito esforço, tem-me também inspirado bastante no que diz respeito ao meu guarda-roupa. Não consigo não parar de idolatrar as roupas da April Ludgate! Estou seriamente a pensar em reavivar a rubrica Style Icon e é claro que ela fará rapidamente parte dela!

English: This coat that I thrifted for less than 1€ has been one of my best friends in these cold days. The shape isn't exactly the most elegant and it isn't exactly new but that makes me like it even more. My mom has a completely different opinion and I'm sure that if she had any power in my clothes it would no longer be a part of my wardrobe. (Still, that doesn't make me lover her any less!)

These past days my biggest obsession has been the series Parks and Recreation. Besides being a good way to make me laugh without much effort, it also inspired me a lot regarding my wardrobe. I cannot stop idolizing April Ludgate's clothes! And by the way, I am seriously thinking about reviving my Style Icon posts, of course she is going to be a part of it!

Do The Twist

Português: Não se admirem com a manga curta em pleno mês de Novembro, os dias por aqui têm estado quentes e solarengos, só hoje o frio e a chuva decidiram voltar a fazer uma surpresa e os casacos quentes voltaram a sair à rua. 

Lembram-se de eu ter dito que tinha de evitar comprar na Primark e procurar peças de melhor qualidade? Bem, parece que as coisas estão destinadas a serem mais difíceis do que julgava. Esta semana abriu a Primark aqui em Santiago de Compostela e não consegui resistir a dar lá um saltinho. Felizmente, acabei por comprar apenas um cinto. Admito que estou mais do que feliz com os meus novos hábitos no que diz respeito a comprar roupa, isto de ter vindo de Erasmus acabou por se tornar uma grande ajuda visto que tenho de organizar muito melhor o meu espaço e, acima de tudo, o meu dinheiro! Infelizmente, isto tudo está prestes a acabar e vou estar de volta a Portugal num piscar de olhos. É incrível como o tempo passa rápido sem termos noção disso!

English: Don't be surprised with the short sleeved blouse in the middle of November, the days here have been warm and sunny, only today the rain and the cold decided to make an appearance and so the cosy long coats.
Anyway, do you remember when I said I wanted to avoid Primark and search for better quality pieces? Well, it looks like that is going to be a little more difficult than I thought. This week, Primark opened here in Santiago de Compostela and I couldn't resist to give it a look. Fortunately, I ended buying only a belt. I must say I'm pretty happy with my new buying habits. Being an Eramus student was definitely a great help since now I feel obligated to organize the tiny space I have and, of course, to manage the money more wisely! Sadly, this is almost coming to an end and I'll be back to Portugal at a glance. It's amazing how fast the time goes by!

Originality Needed

Português: Há dias em que tudo o que está no nosso guarda-roupa nos aborrece, em que todos os vestidos, saias e sapatos já nos cansam o olhar. Esses dias para mim já duram há cerca de um mês! Ultimamente tenho pensado seriamente em dar uma limpeza geral ao meu armário e manter lá aquilo que realmente quero e sei que vou usar. Para além disso, ando a pensar também em começar em investir em peças de melhor qualidade e menos em peças de roupa em cadeia que toda a gente à minha volta parece usar. O único problema disso é que também tenho de passar a gastar mais dinheiro. Mas será que não vai acabar por compensar? Tenho andado que olho numa loja que há aqui chamada "La Maleta de Bel" que representa tudo aquilo em que quero transformar o meu armário. Peças únicas, de qualidade e com pequenos detalhes que fazem toda a diferença! Sinto que chegou a hora de levar o meu armário a outro nível, muito mais limpo, original e organizado. Acredito que esse seja o empurrão que preciso para voltar a ter a inspiração de que tantas saudades tenho e consequentemente a voltar a dar vida ao blog.

English: There are days when everything that is in our wardrobe bores us, days when all of our dresses, skirts and shoes makes us feel joyless. Those days are a part of me for more than a month already! Lately I've been seriously thinking about giving a general cleaning to my closet and keeping only what I really want and that I know I'm going to use. The only problem about that is that I need to start spending more money too. But in the end won't it pay off? I have my eye in a local store here in Santiago de Compostela named "La Maleta de Bel" that represents everything that I want my wardrobe to be. Unique pieces, with quality and with little details that make all the difference! I feel that arrived the hour to take my wardrobe to another level, much more cleaner, original and organized. I believe that is the push I need to get my inspiration back and to start post more frequently here on the blog.

A Familiar Feeling

English: One of the things I like the most here in Santiago de Compostela is the amount of gardens and churches that we can easily find on our way. In each street there's a church and in every corner there's a park or garden which makes everything really beautiful and picturesque. It's such a visually strong city with so many fascinating details!

I'm already living here for a month and it's funny how I no longer get lost on the streets and how my spanish sounds much better. I already discovered three vintage stores and I hope to find a lot more. The coffee shops have pictures that no longer feel strange to me and even the faces on the street look so much familiar. I'm loving this city even more each day!

Português: Uma das coisas que mais gosto aqui em Santiago de Compostela é a quantidade de jardins e igrejas que se encontram facilmente pelo caminho. Em cada rua há uma igreja e em cada canto há um parque ou um jardim o que torna tudo realmente bonito e pitoresco. É uma cidade visualmente forte e com detalhes fascinantes!

Já estou aqui há cerca de um mês e é engraçado como já não me perco nas ruas e como o meu espanhol já não é tão arranhado. Já descobri três lojas vintage e muitas mais espero encontrar. Os cafés já têm imagens que não são estranhas para mim e até as caras na rua me são cada vez mais familiares. Cada vez gosto mais disto!

Shiny Shiny, Shiny White Shoes

English: One of the good things about not having internet at home is the fact that everytime I feel like using it I need to go to a coffee house and sit on the terrace with my computer while I appreciate the life the environment of Santiago de Compostela. I like to look around and see the beauty of the streets, the quiet tourist with their backpacks, to feel the wind blowing in my face while drinking a cup of hot coffee. Sure I miss the lazy days when I stay in my bed having my breakfast with my computer on my legs but, well, this is a thousand times better.

In one of the days of discovering this beautiful city I wore this darling SammyDress shoes. I always liked shiny shoes and these are especially lovely and really comfortable. Shouldn't all shoes be like that above anything? I like being able to walk for hours and hours without having to feel my feet shouting in pain and these are perfect for that besides having that 60s vibe that I love so much.

Português: Uma das coisas boas de não ter internet em casa é o facto de ter de me ter de deslocar a um cafézinho e sentar-me na esplanada com o meu computador enquanto aprecio a vida e o ambiente de Santiago de Compostela. Gosto de olhar à minha volta e ver a beleza das ruas, a calma dos turistas com as suas grandes mochilas, de sentir o vento a soprar na minha cara enquanto bebo um cafézinho quente. Claro que sinto falta dos dias de preguiça em que fico mais tarde na cama a tomar o pequeno almoço com o computador em cima das pernas mas tenho de admitir que isto sabe mil vezes melhor. 

Num dos dias de descoberta desta bonita cidade usei estes bonitos sapatos da SammyDress. Sempre gostei de sapatinhos de verniz e estes são especialmente encantadores e realmente confortáveis. Não é assim que todos os sapatos deveriam ser acima de tudo? Gosto de poder andar horas e horas sem ter de sentir os meus pés a gritarem de dor e estes são os sapatos ideais para o fazer para além de terem aquela vibe dos anos 60 que eu tanto gosto.

In Santiago de Compostela

English: All this absence is almost ending, I'm finally living in Santiago de Compostela. I'm loving every single corner of this city even though I've been here not even for a week. My sweet home is small  and faced towards a street full of moving people and typical restaurants which smell invades my living room and waters my mouth. The people are smiley and speak loudly, the café con leche it's delicious and yesterday I ate my first empanada with tuna and eggs in this beautiful garden where people sit to talk. I'm in love with all the details and the truth is that even though I'm near my hometown, I haven't regret choosing this spanish city as my Erasmus destination. I can't wait to share all my experiences with you!

Português: Toda esta ausência está quase a terminar, finalmente estou a morar em Santiago de Compostela. Estou a adorar cada cantinho que esta cidade tem apesar de nem há uma semana cá estar a morar. A minha casinha é pequena e está virada para uma rua cheia de pessoas em movimento e restaurantes típicos cujo cheiro invade a minha sala e me põe com água na boca. As pessoas são sorridentes e falam alto, o café con leche é uma delícia e ontem comi a minha primeira empanada com atum e ovo neste bonito jardim onde as pessoas se sentam a falar. Estou apaixonada por cada detalhe e a verdade é que apesar de estar perto de casa, não me arrependi de ter escolhido esta cidade espanhola como meu destino de Erasmus. Estou ansiosa por partilhar todas as minhas experiências com vocês!

Night Time

English: I can't remember the last time I took photos in my hometown, in fact, I think the last time I took photos for the blog here was a long time ago, in the beginning when I first started it. I live in a small town in the north of Portugal where nothing really happens, where there's not much history nor things to remember but, after all, this is my small town and the people I meet on the streets are the people whose faces I remember since forever, and the streets, well, they have all these little details that I know like the back of my hand. Thinking about leaving this city forever makes me a certain nostalgia and makes me aware of how ephemeral things are.

I wore this Jovonna London dress and all its details and floating charm make this dress one of my favorites ever. Yes, I do have a lot of favorite dresses but this is one deserves a spot on the top. With its pattern, the slight asymmetry and the popping collar, this dress jumps in the middle of my wardrobe and makes sure to stand out without any mercy. 

Português: Não me lembro da última vez que tirei fotos na minha terra natal, aliás, acho que só o fiz uma vez aqui para o blog e já vai há bastante tempo, logo no início quando o criei. Moro numa cidadezinha pequena no norte onde não se passa grande coisa, onde não há grande história nem coisas para recordar mas, apesar de tudo, é a minha cidadezinha pequena e as pessoas que encontro pelas ruas são pessoas cujas caras me lembro desde sempre e já sei os detalhes de todas as ruas como se fossem a palma da minha mão. Pensar em deixar esta cidade para sempre deixa-me uma certa nostalgia e faz-me ter noção da efemeridade das coisas.

Usei este vestidinho da Jovonna London e todos os seus detalhes e o seu encanto flutuante fazem dele um dos meus festivos favoritos de sempre. Sim, tenho imensos vestidos que digo serem dos favoritos mas este é mesmo daqueles que estão no topo. Com o seu padrão, a sua ligeira assimetria e a gola chamativa, este vestido salta no meio do meu guarda-roupa e faz questão de se destacar impiedosamente.
